Science - Friction

In science we have been investigating friction and how it affects moving objects.  We found that the moving object travelled the least amount of distance when 5ere was more friction.  The bumpier their surface, the more friction there was.

Red Nose Day 2019

We have dressed up in red or as our favourite red Nose character and donated 50p towards Red Nose Day. We recapped on our class worship where we learnt all about 5e importance of Red Nose Day and helping others the best that we can. We then sang the Red Nose Day song and rap.

Reading Week - Iron Man Constructions

As part of Reading week, we designed and constructed the character The Iron Man out of boxes, tubes, bottles, tin foil.  We even had to learn how to use a saw to create the arms and legs.

Our Worship Team Helping us to Prepare for Easter during Lent

Maddie and Hope learnt all about preparing for Lent at the pupil RE Conference.  They have been to visit all our classes in our school and helped children to make book marks with our Lent promises on them.

Author Dan Worsley

We had a great visit from our local author, Dan Worsley. He came in to tell us about the process he goes through to create a book, from the editing to the illustrations. He then went into Year 2 and 3 to complete a writing workshop with them.

Living Eggs Experience - Our chicks are off to the farm!

Finally, after nearly 2 weeks the day has come for the chicks to leave us and go back to the farm. They will grow up to be hens and cockerels and will get daily treats like little worms. 

We are sad to see them go, but we have lots of happy memories and we are really pleased with ourselves too…

Whole School Communion Service

We all took part in a Communion Service with Reverend Anne in our Church.  Year 6 helped lead the service as part of their Confirmation preparation.  Pupils and staff were invited for a blessing too and we all enjoyed supporting Year 6 on their Confirmation journey.
