Floating and Sinking

We have been exploring floating and sinking on our Investigation station today.  We made predictions about what we thought was going to happen before we placed the items in the water.  We then sorted the items onto the correct sheets 'Float' or 'Sink'.

Our Remembrance Day Soldier:

As part of the 100 Year anniversary of the end of the 1st World War we created a Remembrance Soldier out of poppies made by all the children in the school. Everyone felt part of the commemorations in our school community by adding their own poppy and some art work was also added.

Testing Materials

We were asked to make our Elfy an umbrella. We tested the different materials to see if they are waterproof or not. Then thought about which materials would work as an umbrella. We thought that plastic would be the best material because it was waterproof and not heavy to hold up.
