Year 1 Marathon Day

We have had a great week completing a mile a day around the track. With all us running a mile it added to the whole school running the total of a marathon. It has been great raising money in such a fun way. Well done Y1 for completing the challenge.

Wisdom afternoon with Y1 & Y5

Y1 and Y5 have buddied up to create some wisdom activities. We have been thinking about the proverb “wisdom is more precious than rubies” and created some treasure chests for our wise thoughts and we created some crowns to represent King Solomon.

Phonics Workshop

Thank you to all the parents that came and supported their children with the phonics activities. It was a great chance to have a discussion and answer questions regarding the phonics screening check and for the children to teach their parents a thing or two about phonics.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Year 1 really enjoyed being part of the whole school themed dinner. We each brought in our favourite teddy bears and had our lunchtime with them outside.

Ribby Hall Nature Walk

We have been to Ribby Hall and walked along the nature trail. On the way round we spotted evergreen trees, deciduous trees, wild plants and lots more. We then went across to the gardens and looked at the different fruits and vegetables that have been growing there.

Ramadan

This week has been the start of Ramadan. It has been great learning about Ramadan and the Islamic festival of Eid. It has been brilliant to hear children's own knowledge of Islam, Ramadan and Eid and seeing objects that have been brought in from home.

Mini Gardens
