First of all we watched some live videos from all around the solar eclipse hot spots. e.g. Leicester and the Faroe Islands. We found out that outside our school we should see around 90% of the sun’s disc being covered by the moon. Before we went outside we discussed the safety rules and how it is important not to look directly at the sun, as this can cause damage to your eyes. However, as it was very cloudy today our pin hole projectors, which we had made to view the eclipse safely, weren’t of much use  All was not lost, we could look at the eclipse in the sky safely, because of the thick cloud coverage. Excitedly, when we went outside we got a few glimpses of, the corona, which was like a bright halo in the sky. We had a great experience of science in action as we could make lots of observations of changes which happened during the eclipse, like a drop in temperature and birds flocking to the trees. Lots of us thought the moon looked like a smile so we happily started smiling as well . Finally, we are looking forward to the next solar eclipse in England, as it was a memorable experience.
